Saline Celtic Festival

My name is Kathy Schamberger and I am an employee of The Pet Emporium, a pet supply store in Ann Arbor. For two years now, our store has hosted rescue "Meet-N-Greets". It's because of our work with rescue groups that The Saline Celtic Festival asked our store to organize a Celtic Dog Breed exhibit. This will be our 2nd year organizing the exhibit. It will be held July 13th and 14th, 2008, although are part is only Saturday, the 14th.

Our question to you is, "Will you participate?" The benefits to you would be an excellent opportunity for exposure as The Celtic Festival is a widely advertised event. You'll get to meet some great people ;) get into the festival for free, and show off your dog(s). You will be expected to be 'up' on the Celtic origins of the Gordon Setter and also talk about your rescue! Even if you only have a few animals in rescue, it is always worth your time as people will remember you for a future family member .... plus they often donate to the rescues!

Space is limited, so my recommendation to you, if you come, is to bring 2 dogs. One to be petted and one to be crated for a 'break' and then rotate them. But that is only a suggestion. The Celtic Festival will provide a tent for shade, tables, and chairs. Often rescue volunteers bring their own pets for these "Meet-N-Greets". It is up to you whether to bring your own pet or a foster dog. Bring a helper so you can have a break and see the festival sites ... and enjoy the food! Another idea might be to have 4 volunteers, two to work in the morning and two to work in the afternoon -all get in free! Our part will be from 9am to 5pm although the festival continues until midnight.

If the rescue is unable to attend then please forward this email to someone else in the club. I need dogs! Last year, I had a ton of terrier rescues, plus shelties and Irish Wolfhounds. It would be nice to have more variety.
